The Work
In my 20 years of experience I’ve led New York City-wide efforts to expand college access, mental health programming, and community initiatives. I've worked in schools, community based organizations and city government. This background includes direct service, program and curriculum design and leadership training.
These are some of the examples that demonstrate the scale and complexity
of the problems I’ve been a part of solving.
Testimonials
“Raana is the first leader I've worked under who built humanity into the way she managed, and she has a knack for coaching people into the version of themselves they haven't quite grown into yet. In a massive bureaucratic system like the NYC Department of Education, with 140,000 employees and all the politics that come with it, she taught other leaders to lead with a human-centered approach too, and you could see it in how her teams showed up.”
– Alisha Brown, founder and CEO One Twenty West Co
“In my 15-plus years in non-profit leadership, Raana stands out among the best professionals I have collaborated with in curating community impact. Raana turns community values into concrete, actionable steps alongside community, not at community. Working with Raana is a genuine pleasure.”
– Chris Nguon, Executive Director Flourish Agenda
“I have known Raana Kashi for many years, and across every chapter of her work, she has brought the same combination of brilliance, heart, creativity, and unwavering belief in people. Raana has a rare ability to
hold the big vision and small details
at the same time—she is strategic without losing sight of people and pragmatic without becoming transactional. She identifies what
isn’t working, asks the questions others may be avoiding, and creates
a practical path forward while making people feel respected and valued. ”
